Next Time
AMK

autumn wind blows through the trees
leave's colors changing before her eyes
she looks up at the heavens above
streaks of amethyst paints the skies

she breathes in the chill of air
golden sunshine washing across her face
as she reminices for a moment
of another time and place

a melody she can't quite make out
can be heard for a moment or two
perhaps it's the song of her heart
of a love she once knew

but...

that love is now over
she knows the reasons it had to end
everyday she is growing stronger
as her heart and soul begin to mend

orange sun now laying down to rest
at the end of yet another day
she closes her eyes at the same time
as the memories start to fade away

when she opens her eyes
the moon greets her, white as lace
it hangs in the sky
full of its majestic grace

like the sun and moon interchanging
love quickly comes and goes
she's yet to figure out how
it's doubtful that anyone knows

next time she falls in love
she'll get it right, she'll find out how
lifting her eyes to the stars
she realises... that next time is now.

this is lovely...beautiful imagery wrapped in tender remince and a promise made on the moon.
