Reporting for work was easy
Flinging open Inspector Warren’s Door
Tossing the tape on his desk
Disgust filled her eyes
At the sight of him

“Aahh...my little bird has returned!
You must sing to me of your events.
How much did you have to give in
To our Latino of Lusting Dust!”

He crowed at her entry

“If you had not known my father,
and did not know my real name,
I’d swear you were evil,
and spare the world
the shame of your birth!”

She replied in vain.

“But then who would look after you?
Come...sit...tell me of your journey.
Was he..Quite the Lady’s Man?”

He implored.

“Your sick emotional voyeurism
Won’t get you anywhere.
Let’s just say your Lady’s Man
May have YOU all hot and bothered
But he did nothing for me.”

She shot hoping he’d magically falter

Fingering the tape
He kissed it
“I know where you hid this”
He hissed.

She flew into him
Swift heeled and square
Centering his chest
Sending him backwards in the kick
Landing in a thunderous thud
Of laughter.

“Oh! he muttered through the cackle.
The T’ai Chi has you agile my sweet
I must make sure you are always
fast on your feet!”

Pulling her 9mm
From it’s hiding place
Pressing to temple
“One of these days...
I’ll prove your Mother
Made a mistake”

Slamming the door
Breaking glass
Leaving her call of duty

She heard his voice down the hall
His raunchy echo brewed
“Perfect place for a lovely
Little tattoo bruise!”

She stopped momentarily
Her blood sending heat to her hands
Searing her temper hot
She spoke to herself...

Remember the scars
Remember how he saved you

She touched the back of her hand
Now laced with a demon
Repulsed by the coincidence
Recalling his arrival
Of split second timing

She fevered the thought
Of how some things make you miserably
Indebted

Dear Regina, a wonderfully powerful write, filled with emotion of hate and dark filled rememberence. The work of owed duty.

Keep the imaginary juices flowing, and keep us all on the edges of our seats.

Great work.

Sincerely
Rick

Nothing short of thunderous...the action is swift, yet detailed and informative. You've got the "novel" touch, Regina.
