UNCHAINED MELODY

I will stand in the mist,
weep in the rain,
bow to the sea as it roars!
I am writing the notes as they resonate free
from the heavens and over the moors!

I am hearing the voice of a person who loved me-
the woman, the inner child.
Please listen; just listen, and you’ll hear yours too
for you see it is there all the while.

Yes, a muse can be metaphor tied to a memory-
lines, an ethereal clef.
But no lyrical muse can reach into your soul
if your thoughts and your feelings are deaf.

So play ye with honor and play ye with grace;
we are poets and maestros with pen!
Break all your chains and you’ll write through eternity-
linking your peace from within.
