On the busy streets of Orchard I stood with my 3 good friends A tap on my shoulder Not expecting to meet anyone But I turned His back was to the glaring sun Bright light shrouded him like a ghostly cloak He said he wanted to talk And he walked off - assumed I'd follow I took a step towards him But my friends delayed me Xiping told me earnestly That he knows the truth about me Bewildered, I asked "How?" Kaile said they had spoken to him so Tears rimmed my eyes as I felt indignant How could they reveal something so close to my heart? Mingli was silent - offered me a hug I accepted I was determined - went looking for him Not knowing where he was - led by intuition I found him with his friends I could not control my tears as I spoke "I never loved you!" I shouted. "Not now, not before, not ever!" I was agitated beyond embarrassment But he seemed totally indifferent A nonchalant shrug was his only reaction Belatedly, my 3 friends crowded in His friends stood and bid us sit Jiawen was as friendly as usual I hope our friendship would remain Angeline was my good friend too Offered consolation I desperately needed A shrill alarm rang loud Glancing around with sleepy eyes At the out-of-place surroundings Oh! I was in my room It was only a dream, phew! Good heavens! It was so wierd Was it the full moon that creates such dreams? It must be an omen - a sign Maybe I never did bear him any feelings It was now time to forget him I stood up and stretched Glorious day ahead!
