Don't Take It To Heart It seems every time my heart breaks it's when the sun goes down I don't think I've ever laid this head down in peace I believe my walk in this short lifetime I've felt every shade of blue For the darkness has a way of hurting me... On a night much like any other ordinary night I found myself beneath the blanket of pain But, there was nothing warm about the way it laid upon me And, from that night on I was never the same... The ceiling was my friend when I was able to open my eyes And, I found comfort in the white that hung over head For, his extreme weight pushed against me like the cold December winds I knew with his every breath I was getting closer to the end of sunsets bed... His face spoke of no shame when my pain eased long enough to look in his eyes I found the night to be something no one should ever know For, not so much in words did he say Girl don't take it to heart But, all the same when he didn't care I was a friend there below... In later days I found my strength to be in words on paper And, then I convinced myself that someone must hear So, bravery found me in the mist of my pain speaking of the rain I went through But, again the night didn't care what I was made to feel... They just went on like the rain I carried was completely light Don't take it to heart was their response to my scariest night For, we all live in the storms and we all meet our ghosts in life So, I left my words of despair to flow with their thoughts that I'd be all right... But, here I stand too afraid to lie down again Just trying to make sense of all I have been through I hide the tears and tell myself Girl don't take it to heart But, the truth is, My Friends, I still do... Saunni~An awful experience like that is not something that you can keep from taking to heart....besides, no one can tell you that you shouldn't feel one way or the other! Feelings are irrational. We just have them! Your words eminate the pain you are feeling sweet poetess.....I'm sending you some heart hugs and hope they will cheer you up maybe even a little. the heart has a way of healing even the most hurtful of feelings. . .
