Tonight as I held the guitar and softly sang "LA," in a subtle and sudden flash of sight it came to me that it was the same one, the same "LA" I'd sung twenty years ago with you The one when the night's soft lights played around on the floor of the barn and this made you play the piano I twirled around once or twice with the microphone and lightly kicked the air and the woodstove crackled and murmured and went to sleep At times, alone (like a passing tone goes) I turn through a sky of elliptical paths Eclipsed for infinitesimal eons, Held secret like centuries hid behind walls, Until a woodstove crackles in a barn and a guitar plays "la..." |

It's amazing how those memories can sneak up on you. I liked the barn/woodstove imagery. A unique memory, one to savor each time you sing LA, or sit in front of a woodstove.. |

This is beautiful writing, miss, with the perfect touch of nostalgia to the tune of soft guitar strings... |
