Shadows of Love

Love’s happy rays
Of bright happiness
Can also bring
Shadows of pain
Self doubt and hurt.
Although the light
Controls my heart
The ever present
Shadows lurk
Pulling at my fears
At my doubts
Making me feel
Like a fool
Inadequate
Not good enough.
You always know
The perfect things
To say and do
I am always left
Hoping I do right
Hoping you know
How much I love you
Even if I’m bad
At giving you
The helping hand
That you give me
It seems I say
The wrong things
Only hurting you
Instead of helping.
How can our love
Thrive and grow
If I keep making
These mistakes
I don’t know I make
I only want to
Love you always
Hold you in my arms
In my heart
In my soul
But sometimes
I wonder
Am I good enough.

poem. Just be yourself....trying to please
can be so difficult cause we are all so

I know it's hard because so many of us do it but try not to second guess yourself.You're poem was sad bu touching.You write good.

If he/she's still there, then you're good enough. Love can be frought with obstacles, and as you point out, many of them made out of our own self doubts. Don't underestimate yourself, you sound like you have a beautiful heart, and I'm betting he/she loves you for it, and doesn't want you to doubt yourself.
Love this poem, it speaks very eloquently of your feelings for this person. Big welcome to passions. Look forward to seeing more
