The One I Never Made

you’re the best surprise I ever had
never have known anyone like you
you look at the old
making it seem brand new

didn’t even dream of this
you look straight through my disguise
I see things I’ve never seen before
in the reflection of your eyes

reading the brail bumps of my heart
somehow you are blinded to my flaws
when I become afraid I’ve lost my way
I then hear my accomplishments in your applause

around you, my walls melt away
when you reach for me it goes so deep
touching places long forgotten
making me loose my breath and my heart leap

know all the stars in the black velvet sky by name
and on them unanswered wishes did fade
now the best wish of all
was the one I never made

"I have already paid for my future sins."  Sade...(King of Sorrow)

To be loved sincerely and truly must be surely wonderful
To feel a strength and warmth that asks for little but some time
To know that all is fine on a day that brings rain
Makes feelings entwine and the love of two rhyme

Dear Lady, I enjoyed the read very much indeed and look forward to more.

Sincerely
Rick

I guess this is what happens with 2 people in love. Accepting each other, encouragement and love showing in every action. So sweet, and wonderful writing! ^.^

I like this.
Warm and hopeful.
And I especially like this 'vision' verse:

"didn't even dream of this
you look straight through my disguise
I see things I've never seen before
in the reflection of your eyes"

And as usual, ending with a twist.

Not to mention that you have stimulated my muse as well, and it needed it . . .

Thanks, Lady.

This is wonderful! The best things in life are free, and sometimes you don't have to wish on a star, your dreams come true anyway.
(I'm hearing a great melody in this poem)
Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem.

it's wonderful when someone sees all the good and the bad in us and loves us anyway!
I enjoyed this Helen. It's like being reflected in their eyes but made better...
