To Rub out Time We are mired in the mud, this road has gotten so rough and winding these tires slip. Oh, such a vehicle, so smiley and wide, a comfort that seemed would last forever across the wind swept road. Is this wrinkle a show that would display all the minutes where dreams were born? for struggles twisted the shining and rust seemed so small at first, take care of rust rub it out rub it out sings the morning quietly, such a small thing can grow you know. Could we but matriculate into our years then graduate with lively lust intact and a house with a picket fence almost paid for and travel to places where destiny surely waits and will always wait. But truly would it matter if you had your cup of tea and a beer at sunset, the other side of youth just is all of a sudden, like a coin flipped and riding circles it falls and settles and you can’t turn it over, not with a sigh or a promise. So lets feed this precious minute pieces of our flesh and look at the sky where stars wink, conspirators in some grand design, capture its essence, pull out all the worth of it and fill it up to tomorrow, for there is no polish that will rub out time. _______ a repost from somewhere in time |

Oh Martie! There were so many words...phrases and combinations that rang the 'truth bell' in my head as I read this, that I am not even going to point them out. This is wonderful...just as you are! Thank you for this one! ~hugs, Nancy~ ~Time has cast a spell on you, |

there is no way to rub out time, no big eraser wipes our rhyme.... we write the memories, the lines, since time will stand in tact, sun shines upon the past which we can pen.... then written, it will live again..... thank you for this, martie... you are a fine writer and this piece is exceptional |

This perfect picture was out there floating, until a memory flew like a kite to grab it, bring it down, for a lesson's sake... yes, perfect! |

My favorite carpe diem poem of the day. Yes, enjoy the stars, the sun, the friends and the beauty that still surrounds you. |

I am sitting here Martie shaking my head, I wish I could capture the moments, the thoughts and the feelings that you do. Absolutely a stunning and touching piece, m'dear friend. into my library it goes. Maree ![]() |
