~~~ The Tulip She Gave ~~~
She came
Giving a yellow tulip
To him
Lost
He didn’t know
what does it tell him
He wanted to stop her
And say
The thoughts
That seemed to come
His way
But
She just gave the tulip to him
left too quickly
That when he looked
He only saw
the trace of her hem
He went back to his chair
Sat
to just stare
stare
at the lonely
tulip she left
Was it a way
to mend the rift?
She just looked at his eyes
Then went a way
Leaving him
Bewildered
Trying to figure
What does she want to say?
A tulip?!
A proud
Lofty flower
Standing erect
Like a tower
Magical
And true
Holding
The mystery of the heart
Hidden
Deep down
And guarded from view
He sighed
Remembering her heart
An enigma
Hidden from him
from the start
No matter how he tried
To go beyond
The mysterious shield
Her heart never really yield
Forever surrounded
By golden
Magical
high walls
ever enticing
like the lofty petals
of a tulip
How many times
He tried to peek
over the borders
The edges
Of those walls
But they stood
So tall
He tried to see
From between
The enchanting lines
Of the mystery
Tried
To move
The high petals
aside
Just a bit
But
A tulip
It was
And never allowed that bit
Finally he gave up
And was contended to sit
Silently
And watch
See her,
Was all that he wanted
Be near
Was enough for him
Even if her nearness
Tormented him
Her majestic presence
Overwhelmed him
Time and time a gain
And he wished secretly
That her heart
Was his to gain
And now
Now
She gives
A silent
Yellow tulip
To him
Never really knowing
How much it tortures him
For looking in books
He finally knew what does it say
She gave him a symbol
Of unrequited love
Oh…
Did she really think
he would shove
the love
He dreamed of
Right there within
His heart
And wished
It to echo
In her heart…
He went to her
And gave her
A red tulip
And whispered to her
“Tulip really resembles you
with a heart
forever hidden from view
A yellow one
You gave me
Never really knowing
How much it shakes me
To look at the silent message it tells
but red I give you
to simply tell
how much my love
has secretly resided
in its
silent cell
So....never
Never
speak of unrequited
Love
To me
Your love would
Resides in me
Eternally”
Wow,  sometimes it is hard to find the correct words for a poem with depth such as this.  So let me just say I like it and WOW.
How lovely. I wonder, if I gave the tulip, what would happen?
Not a red in return, I think. This was so beautifully painted, much enjoyed, and always, I relate in so many different ways.
A most magical flower, as is this poem.  Makes me wonder who she is and what she's about to be able to cajole a red tulip...
(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh, this is so so sad but soooooo beautiful and tender! (sad sigh) My heart cries tears of joy to feel this loving promise, but also of sadness of how the heart misses love all the same! (sad sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is sooooooo beautiful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
