HALLOWEEN TERROR It's too quiet My heart begins to pound I caN hear it, the wind hoWling banging AGainst tighly closED shutters sending a DEEP chill of terrOR Up my back I can feel that somethIng hiding in this dark It waits for just the rIGHt time to strike at me The nigHt now startS COMing alive witH sound that echOES through the inky blacknESS of night raising gOOSe bUMps on both MY aRMS and neck while someTHIng wARNs oF A danGEr that's come The old door squeaks AS I open it wanting to see that which my heart is the very most fearful of They are getting closer and I hold my breath and smile as I fill their treat bags up Karen Torbiak 2001© Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. And may they all get treats and not terror...I work at nights til eleven pm so I don't usually pass out candy but I love to go to Waikiki right after work and see all the people walking around late at night in their costumes...that is a treat...James |
