Grabbing his little levis and, His favorite flannel shirt, He put on his tiny work boots, Got dressed to do his work; Fluffing up his downy wings, He flew to get his tools, Paint and a few new brushes, No need for easels and stools; He merely had to look below, Let drops land where they may, Splash the yellow and red around, To create a brilliant array; He watched the maples grow crimson, The oak trees change to gold, Bittersweet orange on the birch Was truly a sight to behold. He didn't brush the mighty firs, Leaving them in shades of green, Draping the autumn landscape, With a blanket of serene. The sun did nod it's approval, When the cherub was all through, And he just beamed from ear to ear, So proud of the season he drew. |

I really really enjoyed this poem! Love the imagery and colors. I know it won't be long before Jack Frost will be to work up here in Canada painting all those leaves in autumn splendor. Nancy. ~I've loved you forever, in lifetimes before~ |

This was great. May I use it? I have to come up with a "script" for a play about autumn. I'd like to use it at the end of the play---if I may. |
