The Silent Sky

Begone ye demons of mind
turn mem'ries of cruel to sigh of kind,
end this curse through eye's looking glass
set not asunder the years so fast to pass,
surcease this pain ~ this search of strain
of wasted tears for truth in vain,
silence the sky of seraphim, no more
make bountiful my dreams to leap at love's door,
release these chains of yearning...
leave not the moon in burning,
wind up the stars to cradle my ear
strum a kindred masterpiece on twilight, sincere,
compose me a romance, of soulmate born true
mesh midnight with violet to kiss away this blue,
intoxicate my heart with Cupid's regal passion
whils't stars sip serenade of time's grand fashion,
re-write poetry of fate and the course of destiny
give me wings to swim through the deep of reverie,
awaken my dreams to dance upon love's shore
so, the silent sky shall sing of hope and peace, once more

Melissa,

you sure have a way with your words, I enjoy reading your work. I love the pic of the wolf howling at the moon!
By the way, how do I add pictures like that to my poems?

Thank you everyone for your replies

Sven ~ I was listening to a cd of piano classics composed by Canadian Hagood Hardy, and the intrumental "Silent Sky' came on, and instantly these words poured out of me, and this poem was penned in about 1/2 hour!
I tried to find his 'silent sky' midi on the net, but, it doesn't exist, so I happened across this midi instead.

I like to call this poem 'sad, but, with a happy ending"

This is an amazing write Melissa. I'd tell you my favourite lines, but then I'd have to pick them all. You have such a way with words, the beauty of the words themselves and the way they flow off the tongue. This is a stunner

This is the song I sing each night
while waiting lone, no love in sight.

Love it lots, Melissa. You said it like a combination song/poem/prayer. Perfect.

Melybee....when you turn the light off of you and on to other ways to write, that is when you write your best...and this is one of those times.

This is very, very good.  A small critique before you bounce me out...when I say you did not write this of you, I think you will argue with that, for surely, you have nuances of a personal nature in this piece.

What I want to point out is that you wrote this one for the reader.

That is showing your ability to grow as a writer...

this is very, very good.

I would like to see more like this.
