A step or two behind

Perhaps
a step or two behind
is where I felt the curve of you
tugging at me
like a small powerful boat
tossed by the sea

if I could steal a dreaming moment
shape it to curl over me stronger
than a passing wave
I would

I’d swim you
and feel the whirl of you behind it all

Hi Maree..you are always so original in the way you express a thought that I think, why didn't I think of that?  As usual, you write well!

~I just don't know what to do with myself. - Maree, this piece, I, sigh, you know how to crawl inside, to breathe yourself into words that translate into this essense of your presense, wow. And I love how you've structured it and added a piece of me to it's beauty. Thank you dear for lifting me with thought and word, when so very needed. Perhaps one day we will walk side by side, and chat about all the things we see and feel. *Peace to you and your lovely, lovely self. Thank you.

Poems like this are the anchors that allow us all to venture out beyond the breaker line. This is reminiscent of certain obscure influences that I think will continue for the two of us. Glad to see you writing dear.
