Poet or Not

I had a friend who politely said to me,
After some poetry of mine he read.
You seem to be able to write so well,
Wouldn’t you rather be an author instead.

If I weren’t a poet I’d write a book,
Since I have so many things on my mind.
But ryhme is how the poet most often works,
These are the things my heart is able to find.

My friend has a salient point to make,
Am I really a frustrated author today?
Maybe tomorrow I’ll continue to persevere,
And become an author come what may.

Finally I searched my heart deep inside,
Trying to decide what I really wanted to be.
And after pondering his question well,
I’m not an author, but rather a poet, that’s me.

A poet you definitely are

but you do have a talent for writing that I'm sure you could spread into other areas if you ever developed the urge!

Decisions, decisions...nope...you are a poet..with any ability I'm sure...just would miss your words here when you became all famous Amos and all...and would forget us while you rode around in your limo signing books and stuff...so I will be selfish and say POET! So we can comment daily on your words here at Passions...till you get discovered and then write note cards or something and then we'll just have to purchase the "Larry C" calendars and stuff....

And a damn fine poet you are too!! I agree with Regina, we don't want you getting famous, cause then you won't have time for such other pursuits...like entertaining us with your jousts with Lucie!!!

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?
