Still a child, I was having a child
And though you weren't conceived from love,
You became my very life
I swear by every power above.

Love is shown in many ways
Please, dear, always know
The greatest gift I had to give
Was loving enough to let go.

Others got to share your life
But you're held in my heart
And heaven, to me, is just a place
We'll unite to never part.

The happiest days I've ever had
Were those that I spent with you.
Giving you up was the hardest thing
I've ever had to do.

I wanted a better life for you
Than I could ever provide
But there's a constant emptiness
Without you at my side.

On your special day and every day
My thoughts fly to you
I hope you hear my whispered words
I loved you... and still do.

For Little Chick from Mother Hen - October 29.

I don't know if Cindy will see this or not... but I made her a promise long ago to remember. Any and all lack in this poem is from the pen, not from the heart... I wanted the love here waiting for her if she does get to drop in. *S*

This masterpiece from your heart will touch all very deeply who will be blessed to read it. Love means doing the right thing even though the hurt is more than we can bear and you show in this poem the greatest love that can be shown. My heart goes out to you. Thank you, so much, for sharing this poem with me.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

a beautiful poem...in write, but most of all in intend...
the beauty is in the promise kept...
you did her justice and the friendship.
back to to the top for "Lil Chick"

This distance has shown how the road remains alone
Now I'm looking in my life ... for a truth that is my own.

Suthern,
A lovely poem that will ride the waves of time. And may float until it reaches her heart. *L*

This is even more beautiful than "an angel remembers"..:-)

Thank you for your promise but more so for your continued love, it's rare in this world.

I did my usual and went and laid some flowers by the stream, every flower represented a year of her life but also for all of the memories, people like yourself have given me when sharing Rachel with you.

Love you MotherHen

Big HUSG

Don't ask me where I'm going, just listen when I'm gone and far away you'll hear me singing softly to the dawn.

Sunshine, Janet Marie, and Seymour: Thank you all very much. *S* I appreciate you keeping this from sinking for a while. *S*

Startime: Thank YOU. *S* And you're right... when you love someone, you want the very best for them... no matter how many tears wet your pillow. *S*

jellybeans: Loyal friends are life's greatest gifts... thank you... love you, too. *S*

RainbowGirl: I read your poem from last year earlier today and imagined you near a stream with a bouquet of lovely roses... and was so hoping you'd know our love is with you, whether you visited PIP today or not. *S* I'm glad you're here... glad you like. *S* Big HUSG... and whole heaps of love... today and always.

You are a true and constant friend to do this for her. And the poem is so heartbreakingly lovely.

Penned with love, this will surely find its way to her heart, though you may never know when it happens.

Belle - This poem really moved me, as I, too, have been blessed with knowing the incomparablly wonderful Cindy.  Thanks for writing this poem.  You are all class (and to keep you from deprecating this compliment as you so often do other compliments), that class is "First Class Wonderful Lady."

I've no doubt of your long suffering and none who read this could ever doubt your Love. It was touching and I was touched.
