I won't let you get to close then I won't care
that one day when I look you won't be there.
When I feel you start to cling then its ok
cause I'll just turn my back and walk away.

If you start to love to deeply its alright
count on me to always pick the fight.
I won't ever let my heart feel love for you
cause if I do then you will leave me too.

I held on to these thoughts for many years
I could hide the hurt and shed no tears.
I just shut my feelings up inside
Where I always had a place that I could hide.

But then you came and knocked upon this door
promised I would have to hide no more.
Why'd you make me love you .. I don't know...
cause now you tell me soon you'll have to go.

Let go my fears and start my life again
To love you was a good place to begin.

Such a sad poem but at the end hope shines through brilliantly. Wonderful writing. I love it.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
