![]() She rises above the clear blue water A maze of rusted steel For years her mighty wells screamed Flowing energy into the veins of our daily lives She was tended like a queen bee With workers providing her every need Now she is but a shell of her former self Her wells sit silent, dead but not buried That is why I am here Not to sooth or heal her But to remove the reason for her existence To close forever that connection Between her and the now empty dead zone Miles below her feet She will soon be uprooted And carried away to be discarded Far from the sea that has caressed for a lifetime No ceremony or reward for her service Just butchered into a thousand pieces And called scrap. Death comes not when we cease to breathe, but when we cease to dream. |

How incredibly sad this feels to me. Like something that touched many is now passing into a past to soon be forgotten. Very well written. ![]() Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

this is cool...i like it a lot..it does have such a sad feel to it..but a feeling also that it was something important to many... this reminds me of a big house that used to be on folly beach in chas, sc...we played under it as kids..it got turned into a resturant eventually, and then got uprooted by a hurricane.. ![]() much enjoyed ![]() ~dgvarner/fallen rain~ |

Now this is a masterpiece. When you can take a picture, so ordinary, just sitting there. Put all of those awesome words with it and stir the two together....excellent, I won't forget this one for some time. |

Thanks Startime and dgvarner, I am glad the feeling I had came out. This feeling can be about anything in life that has outlived its time. Midnitesun...she surly will...and may return as the bumper of your next car. Thanks Magnus, I never had a writing called a masterpiece before. I did take the pic, but the credit for being able to post it goes to *S* Nancy Lee. She helped me through the maze of HTML to get it to post. Death comes not when we cease to breathe, but when we cease to dream. |

Yeah, but I work for a steel mill and we need the scrap!!! lol. Seriously though, it is sad to see things torn down and scrapped. Nice poem about it If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

I know from the passage above, and through our many chats just how much this must have saddened you and many others. I also know how much you love it out there... especially at night. Take care, and answer your ICQ...I have an idea! You did yourself proud with this one my knight. *S* Nancy Lee *S* ~Time has cast a spell on you, |
