Too Much Love

Can there ever be Too Much Love
in a world filled with pain and strife
where all around is in darkness
and people are fleeing from life?

Will we keep driving love away
seeing it as a thing that's weak
giving all to those who are strong
not caring what hearts really seek?

Can't we see the damage to us
when all around is so much hate
as we cast aside tenderness
and leave each one to their fate?

Do we see what is happening
as violence fills TV screens
making blood and pain now normal
while ignoring lost children's screams?

Are we going to learn the lesson
taught from a heart knowing sorrow
as love for us all filled His heart,
He prayed for our tomorrow?

Can there ever be Too Much Love
searching for what hearts desire
as hearts all hope and pray above
to feel the words love inspire?

Karen, this is wonderfully written. And of course, we all know the answer to this one. It's the day-to-day that sometimes gets in the way, when we can go to bed at night knowing we may have missed an opportunity to be kind, to forgive, to share the best part of our heart with a stranger (or a friend) who may need just a tiny bit of love that day.

Karen, this is a wonderful piece, and very well written.

Beautiful Karen, I would have thought there could not be too much love, but I was proven wrong, in my case, anyway. I don't know why anyone would deny love, but they do.
This is so much more the way it should be.

My dear Karen; There can never be too much love. To know His love is to be able to give out the type of love that is truly needed in this world. We can love because He first loved us. This is expressed so beautifully, and I thank you for writing this. Wanda

Dear Karen, a great piece this one, and the answer I am sure is no. Love is truly a wonderful thing, but some love to hate.
We all, as surely the majority, must just keep on trying, to show love to a world in need.
