I felt the ache of empty arms My barren womb never knew you I longed to be a mother, yet again We got the call to come at once A precious infant needed us You waited alone in a sterile room For strangers to find for you a home And parents with whom to go I was nervous, full of fear Could I love you as much As any child born of my flesh They held you out, there you were A tiny bundle wrapped in pink You were so small, helpless, and frail I fell in love with you that moment, dear My love for you could never pale A love so perfect, gentle, and fresh I looked at your father And saw it too The look in his eyes As we both fell in love with you |

Yes, this likes me very much, especially since I at one time helped place an infant with a very special couple. And I was the third person to hold the child. I still have that photo... |
