When I met you I didn't want to fall in love But with your smile The warmth in your eyes And your passion You pryed your way Deeply into my heart You told me you loved me first I needed to hear it, and feel it It quenched my thirst Because you let your feelings show I then felt safe to let mine go I gave myself to you My mind, my body, my soul Then I made the fatal mistake I asked you for forever You said 'I can only love you one day at a time' The words cut deeply into my heart Why did I have to ask for forever? Why didn't I just get what I could take? Now that you've hurt me I'm afraid of you Like a turtle in peril I've gone back in my shell Why did I fall in love at all Until then, we were doing so well |

it happens like this a lot, i think....  but if you think really deeply about it, i'm sure you'll agree that forever is really just a string of one day at a time...... *sigh* falling in love is a beautiful thing.... to keep falling forever one day at a time is the greatest journey......... |
