I ate a meal of ribs tonight
my muse wouldn't let me out of sight
He nibbled the bones and gave some thoughts
knowing it would, all be for naught
“IDIOT” he screams, can’t you write,
I work and slave all through the night.

He made me write this little spiel
while lunching on what is left of my meal
A bone for him and one for me
if you count the dog, that makes three
And out of the three the dog is best
for he lays down and takes a rest

My muse and I stay up all night
sipping on coffee and having a fight
How do you expect to stay with me
when half your brain is up a tree
Write some words if even wrong
with a little luck they may make a song

I always cringe when he acts like that
I feel like a wrestler on the mat
So the keyboard sounds like machine gun fire,
maybe he’ll leave me alone and let me retire
So take these words and be so kind
then he can dismiss me from his mind

I love it! Your muse is a tease.
But look at the wonderful things that pour from your pen as fast as he can pour the coffee.

Ha ha, nice little poem for morning coffee. The dog is the best, eh? Now I like dogs, but I might like you better.

MUSE?????
Whats a muse????
We have muses???????
Huh...well I'll be....
WHO KNEW??????
The things ya learn when you hang around poets (teehee) *L*

This distance has shown how the road remains alone
Now I'm looking in my life ... for a truth that is my own.

Nice one Logan!  Gave me an early (for me) morning chuckle.  There are many times my muse would rather stare into the fire than to try and stir up a few interesting thoughts for me.
*whispering* May have to look for a replacement.

*giggling* now what a strange muse he is indeed. At least he keeps you laughing. I love it.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Forced by the Muse, eh? I have felt that need to, many a time. Must write, must write. I loved this! Thank you!

Ummm...
So get your mind out of that tree already, eh, Sweet Warrior!

Mine drags me around kicking and screaming every minute of every day lately. I love this! It made me giggle!

Its been too long since we've spoken, yanno. Don't make me come over there!

I have read many poems about muses but this one is definitely one of my favorites.  You have a wonderful way of expressing what we all feel and then you pen it in such a way that really grabs ahold.  Wonderful write.

I say feed it more often!  Muses are like cats, when full, they settle down and nap.  You will have to trust me on this information, as mine sleeps all the time! Very cute Logan.
