Becoming Aurora

You ask about my happiest day,
I confess that mine is a selfish memory.
As for great days,
I count the births of my children
and the day I met you,
but other emotions affected those moments,
fogging my retrospective.

On this day long ago in my youth,
I was on my way to school,
but my bicycle had other plans
and took me on a joy ride
winding the beach route
from Bird Rock to Wind ‘N Sea.

There had been a storm the night before,
the cumuli were scalloped in pink and orange,
and the sea was an unusual emerald shade,
clear and calm in the aftermath.

There was a bracing wind;
I rode faster to catch it full on,
salt spray inflowed in healing waves;
and for a time, I was beautiful -
my eyes became jade reflections
of my spirit ocean guides;
my hair flowed in mermaid tendrils;
all self-doubt had been vanquished by the tides,
I held only love in my heart;
I was as perfect as God’s creatures could be,
I was aurora.

How incredibly beautiful this poem is. I felt the spray of the sea and envied you the ride. Very well done.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

I held only love in my heart,
I was as perfect as one of God’s creatures could be,
I was aurora.

Oh, I really like this, Corinne. The salty sea air and the wind, and your zest for life all rolled into one. And the message of love and acceptance is beautiful.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Corrine, this is so so beautiful! (smiles) Some of my favorite memories are also from the ocean; I would love to let the waves kiss my feet and lay on the sand and dream of mermaids and dolphins singing and Atlantis. (sigh) Sucha  beautiful lovely poem, you always write such lovely verses, sweet Corrine! (big hugggsssss) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Corrine, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

You've always been Aurora.   I know this because when I read your poetry I see beauty, I see mystery, I see wonderment. Just like the Aurora, sometimes I think I understand it, mostly its just a wonder... that's when I just stare and enjoy.
