Cashmere Laughter
By: Noah Eaton
10/20/01

Stoicly the cotton-tailed hare stumps her foot
Watching Mother Sunshine run to play recess behind the clouds
Between the briars Sister Dove warbles her supple song
To see her little fledglings circling the sky round and round

Happy tears sweep from the clouds, a chilly breeze drifts on by
Tears freezing as they fall, fall becoming Mother Nature's bijous
Cashmere laughter faintly heard from the children of the wind
Capering about in hide-and-seek, innocently through and through

Scarlet leaves blanket powdered vales, scattered in soft fleece tears
Magpies twirl in the flurries, embracing winter's confetti
Arctic Fox prances up and down the mountains, against nature's knife end
Positioning himself on the highest rock to inaugurate winter's ceremony

Uncle Bear crawls outside with his son from his warm cave
Taking his cub on a hike to share this sensation
All together as children of the earth, we welcome this special season
Kissed by vanilla fireflies, illuminating nature's earthly vision...

Wow, what a wonderful poem you paint, Noah!

Yet, again, your way with words amaze me!~

Take care,
Melissa~
