Words

The ancient of words enchants me
As much as sailing on the sea
Ghosts the wind and it fills my dell
Rings my chimes like a rope, to bell.

Their symbols run amuck my mind
They flash a light and also blind.
They’re fireflies in darkest night
And wink to me an instant light.

Their soundings whispers my ears
Residuals of peace and fears
Expand my learn to foreign grand’s
Extend the fingers of my hands.

They are the food that fills my ark
They are the light that lights the dark
They are the oars that row my boat
And buoyancy that makes me float

They are a lullaby and scourge
They are my outcry and a dirge.
They are the fire of my will
And some, the dragons that I kill

They’re my palettes staked with pigment
And my brushes full of figment
They are an aphrodisiac
They are the echoes of the rack.

They’re the dark of genie magic
They’re the gentle and the tragic.
They are our grapes of toxic juice
They are the blood, of human use.

They are my sorrow and my dove
They are the flowers of my love.

"They are the food that fills my ark

A wonderful tribute in words ... to the writing of words themselves. Captured beautifully Sy ... such descriptive phrasing within, lovely indeed!

Best wishes,
/Kit

In all that life would thus atone
I would think words were yours alone
but you share them with a gift of ease
and in your spread, we are thus, pleased...

always

You speak words that share your heart and soul with all of us and the feast you give us is a gift of wonderous delight. I love the feel of this poem. It says what each poet feels in their heart about words. BRAVO!!!

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

They are each one footstep in this long walk of life. Sometimes jaunty others a painful limp but always moving. Enjoyed

Sy,
Your words do more than words can do
They fill a spirit's depth with you
