Creeping down the narrow way through the dankness of the cave deep within my mind I leave droppings of my ill conceived a trail of tears and echoed jeers yellow diamonds of my fears doubts of sparkles left behind... the trail I leave I'll never find. Can I find my way back home? Is the presence that I fear, my own? Is this just one tired tread and why should truth be something dread? Am I a figment of my mind? Can I leave the past behind? Am I wandering aimlessly on circled road's eternity? I only walk, 'cause I can't rest-- and sleep these days resembles death. When I stop I hear the steps of my own relentlessness... serenity take a deep breath, and see your talents. We all have fears which haunts us. We can be our worse enemy. But we must find the strength to take hold, confront those fears and move forward, and sometimes never look back. Goodluck, great expression of emotions here. |

Wow, something so dark like this, is beautiful in my eyes - never doubt the power of your pen! I know that I say this a lot in regards to your poems, but, I really do relate. This is intense and so well expressed! ![]() ~Hugs~ Take care, Melissa~ "Poetry is not an opinion expressed... |

I only walk, 'cause I can't rest-- and sleep these days resembles death. When I stop I hear the steps of my own relentlessness... Kind of like letting the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy. Really like this, Serenity. |

Break out of the circle and make a new path. One that will lead you in the direction your heart wants to go. Very powerful emotions in this poem. Your talent writes from deep within and all of us a blessed by the words that flow from you. Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

Very moving piece. I can hear you questioning yourself here and not finding the answers. They will come sweet lady, they will come If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

I thought I had clicked on a POE poem... or a Michael A.(and you know the compliment intended there) And Duncan...your comment and analogy is pretty damn profound.(and now ya got that song runnnin thru me head) ![]() awesome writing K ...cadence, imagery, turn of phrase and aching depth of emote. Sister Serenity, don't you remember the rule? When traipsing through the dank dark caves, you leave a string trailing behind you, so that you can find your way out again. Here, I'll loan you my string. Better yet, I'll come in and try to find you if you really get lost. But I think you know the way. |

This is incredible! The title alone is poetry. Haunting, indeed; you steal my breath away and leave the ghosts of your words to wander. |

Serenity...I have learned something through my writes these days....to appreciate someone no matter what light they are in...and try to compliment it. You don't need change..you need someone to see you as the black pearl you are. Your poetry is achingly beautiful and quite a nice change from the airy and fully lit scenes...It makes me look deeper. However...I do wish you happiness...in your beautiful shadow. Hugs! ![]() Sincerely, Regina |

![]() once I used the term "hauntingly romantic" and loved it, I believe this is that! It weaves a spell, and really isn't that what poetry does? Oh you have inspired me, I'm going to write something totally bewitching!!!!! -befriend yourself and you will never be alone- Anna [This message has been edited by The Lady of Shallot (edited 10-21-2001).] |
