![]() I finally speak the words I feel, express my desire “cover my body, kiss me with unnumbered want, open my gown and listen to my heart.” ”I am not free to speak the words; free to express the desire. I would love to have you, you are a beautiful woman, warm, passionate loving. It would be so easy to give in, so easy to love you But I can offer you nothing” “We could go on being friends, please I need your friendship, just be there, a letter, nothing promised, nothing expected. A call at Christmas, for the rest of our lives! Oh please!!! Please don’t leave me!.” “You deserve more, my lady, more than I can give. I think it’s best if I go. I will never forget you, what you’ve meant to my life, the way you have touched it. I cannot keep a marriage together if I am constantly thinking of you. The guilt nibbles around the edges, reminding me, haunting me. If not for my child, I would be with you…. My child's love...it is everything to me, everything. My child, I must have this time, as a father. I cannot betray that trust. It’s not right, it’s not moral. I love you - I don't know how I would stop that, I could not.” So over the months, the years, I get through it. Somehow, I will forget...no, I will never forget how he loved me. It was and always will be real. I leave him- in peace. For him, for his peace, for his happiness, because he is a wonderful, loving father. I could not rob a child of that. I leave, embarrassed that I simply did not remain silent. Why did I try to cross the line? Why? I allowed myself to open completely- every avenue of feeling, exposed. Vulnerable. In that, the pain stings, burns and is unbearable. He made his choice. The only one he could make. But then, I wouldn’t have loved him had he made any other. -befriend yourself and you will never be alone- Anna [This message has been edited by The Lady of Shallot (edited 10-18-2001).] |

No, Lady, you could not have loved him at all, for you saw his heart, and knew it best. This is wonderful. Thank you. |

And you love him all the more for the choice he made. My heart goes out to you. This poem is filled with so much love and emotion that my eyes spilled over with tears for your pain. Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

This is a sad story, and one that is not easy to get over. But then, I wouldn’t have loved him had he made any other How very true are those words. If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |
