An Overdose of Knowledge

Why does it seem with every passing day,
life becomes more complex?
As children, we are taught simple addition and subtraction;
by adulthood, we struggle with multifaceted equations,
problems that often have no solutions.

And what begins as knowledge,
that great and wondrous broadening of our world -
grows into eventual loss of innocence,
acceptance that the human race
is capable of horrific deeds;
until finally,
what should bring us to tears
ultimately leads to indifference.

Maybe it is nostalgia
that tinges the past in pastels,
stick drawings
of happy houses with smiling children
and a big sun in the corner;
and maybe our tolerance
for what was once inconceivable
stems from the more primary of colors.

perhaps my friend "a little knowledge" isn't as dangerous as we might think??  perhaps, it's too much knowledge that's dangerous. . .

well done. . . with your wonderful thought-provoking style. . .

Oh, yes, yes, how wonderful to sometimes completely expel all thoughts from our minds and think and believe as children once again, to have that reassurance of something innocent and wonderful and true.  We are so bogged down with information....until we have no room for the quality of joy that is found in a beautiful thought.  At times we don't even know what a beautiful thought is anymore.

I thank you for this!

(big hugggsssssss) It is so very sad indeed to see innocence fade away; for I believe that our dreams and all we create are what makes us happy and makes our heart sings! (sad sigh) Your golden heart shines with compassion in your wonderful words! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Corrine, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Corinne~
There's a happy little girl sitting here beside me with a great big grin on her face~

Shayla, says hello to Ms.Corinne~

I was reading her some poetry and she wanted to draw you this picture of the happy things you mentioned in your poem~

Now Little Miss Shayla says GOOD NIGHT~

*Hugs*
~Shayla~ and ~*Marge*~

Thank you, Walt, Tiersdin, Bob, martie, Sven Startime, Lady of Shallot, and Noah! Too much news and too much knowledge can fill us with anxiety, and lord knows we've had our fill lately!

And a very special thank you for a wonderful little girl named Shayla! I just showed my six year old daughter your picture too (her name is Sarah) and she loved it! Thank you, too, Marge, for cheering me up!!!

Hugs and kisses,

Cor

Giving this one a gentle bump so that a certain little Shayla's dad can show it to Shayla's grandma~

*Thanks, Corinne ...

Shayla says, "Hi Sarah !"

Yep... it's kind of like trying to explain to a child that black and white aren't really colors. Is the knowledge really worth it? Thanks for sharing.  Peace!
