Blame Nicole. C Road Trip… on Random ©2001 C.G. Ward rivulets of age bend to crease the corners off my smile while countless tear-hardened miles bridge yet another fork of indecision. but oh how the nights drive wild! inclination form inspiration, virtual ink bleeding out tomorrow in my mind, paving this highway of fame a metaphor a minute. still, i'd trade all these scars for a simple world of whole… or the whole of a simple world. - take your pick. instead - i flip a one-eighty... degrees of separation: pacingracingchasing… years on the tires to find i only ride the sunset dark. dammit, why does the day dawn brightest for those who cannot see? please, tell me, can i close my eyes on yesterday, clatter the chatter drowning out the hope? can i find a path to wander, ride the ‘love-you’ wonder -of surety at the least- skidding past the edges, straight into happily ever after? ... so, it eludes me, this dream. the concept, the realization - far beyond my ken. guess then – sigh – guess i’ll hit 'random,' and wait for track sixty-five. it’s a song about forever, if i remember right. |

Let me be the first to say this is a great poem. Life does have a few curves and bumps, but somehow you have to know which lane you are better in. You know how they can be on the interstate. It's that way in life, Yes sometimes the sun does glare in your eyes, but sometimes something amazing happens like an awesome sunset. Well enough rambling really enjoyed. |

Ahh.. there it is... waited for this (of course). here: still, i'd trade all these scars for a simple world of whole… or the whole of a simple world. - take your pick. and here: years on the tires to find i only ride the sunset dark. dammit, why does the day dawn brightest for those who cannot see? --- please, tell me, can i close my eyes on yesterday, clatter the chatter drowning out the hope? can i find a path to wander, ride the ‘love-you’ wonder -of surety at the least- skidding past the edges, straight into happily ever after? but mostly HERE: so, it eludes me, this dream. the concept, the realization - far beyond my ken. guess then – sigh – guess i’ll hit 'random,' and wait for track sixty-five. it’s a song about forever, if i remember right. not shrapnel; maybe slingshots that sink when they hit... you're writing simpler... strange... ~smirksmile~ but always growing... ~shaking head~ amazes me; how many revelations and self-exploits run through that head of yours in a day? I do wonder... Your mind is never where it seems to be, rock; and more than you admit, I think, it is often looking backwards. Chin up, face forward, cope ... that's what you've told me. rosebud & poetryluvr - thank you for you kind, sweet, sincere replies - i find it ironic that a poem which i considered fluffy & 'stupid' received accolades, while this one, which i felt merited, thoughtful, and to the point passes by virtually unnoticed... makes one wonder... just a poem ocean princess, not my life... nic - Kenwood Deck, 40W/Channel, Am/Fm, CD & Mp3 player - figure the average burnable cd media is 650M and the average mp3 file is 4M, that means I can get around 160 songs on one disc... makes for a nice road-trip on random, eh? Ahhhhh - sweeeet. It's too bad you can't remove it from the deck and load the Mp3's straight to it. Sounds like a fun toy though! woo~ Time to hit the road, Jack. |
