Death Sat On A Rock

Death sat on a rock.
Silent, alone amist the multitudes around him,
who all watched his every move,
unafraid of the specter who had haunted the souls
of so many, for so long.
Not one was his to claim,
not one could he touch,
not a life could he take,
not a heart could he turn cold,
so cold.
Death sat on a rock
beneath the glowing hands of Jesus,
before the smiles of those just risen,
listening to the words of God
calling his children home.
Death sat on a rock,
obsolete, spent…
then slowly stood,
stepped to the ground below,
and joined the children
following the father home.

What a great image!  And the title is priceless.

jwesley-
I really like the whole concept of this one.
   Nicely penned thoughts.
