Thirty Days And Counting

~*Marge Tindal*~

Where were you when terror came
to smite the land with fear ?
Where were you when the tears began to fall ?

What purpose on this earth
could have been the worth
to cause the broken hearts among us all ?

Where were you the day before
and perhaps even more
where will you be when next the horror reigns ?

Thirty days and still counting bodies
You say you can't count that high ?
Then where will you be
O' where will you be
when your freedom finally dies ?

Fast forward to tomorrow
where surely lays more sorrow
if we don't roust the viper from his lair
Tell me where will you be
O' where will you be
if peace is to be declared ?

Do not be so quick
to wear your complacent grin
Thirty days and counting
What has been
can be again

Lest we not forget tragedy, but go forward in faith, that right will conquer, by contemplation, and belief, that all things will be put together, come the Nation, together, as one.

Well done, Marge!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sadly, the purpose of the evil done, was for nothing. Knowing it was so senseless leaves us stunned into silence.
Still... God is on the throne and one day the evil doers who caused this, will pay. Their day of reckoning will come.
A very strong and heartfelt poem you have written.
Hugs,
Deb
I'm not sure my grin will ever be complacent again... if it can ever be at all. This is very powerful and touching, Marge... well written!
An insightful write causing one to pause and contemplate one's life ... past and present ... looking to the future
Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
Marge,
We can only hope and pray, that this wont happen again....but knowing....remembering....that fear only lurks around the corner....be well and PEACE
A wise man said if every time a murderer killed someone God would stiked him dead at that very moment and at that very location then men would see the error of their ways and control their anger...unfortunately it is not set up this way and so we have our present situation...
Murderers should come to justice and madmen need to be physically stopped...some people act as if all we have to do is say we're sorry and be nice and smile and madmen like Hitler and bin Ladan will just go away...I suppose they also believe that we should have apologized when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and that would have been the end of it...they say that Jesus tried the loving approach and the leaders of that period decided he needed to be crucified...James
Each day has brought waves of change. It is like a crevace has opened up and swallowed all that we knew. No bridge or band-aid will do. Faith and hope is all I have to offer. Believing that good will prevail...but not without work, and diligence.  Very noncomplacent write Marge. I can't ever forget.
Sincerely,
Regina
I was at school when it happened and they had us watching the news, live on tv.
It was pretty scary
