I dedicate this poem to Antonella and Kel. My two closest friends. Thank you both for opening your lives and hearts to me in friendship when I felt all alone in the world. Remember no matter where life takes us from here I will remember you both and I will always be your friend. I freely offer you both all that friendship can bring. Blessed am I By WhiteKnight Sad things I hear each day I never know what to say I feel badly for those suffering in the world I feel horrible for the little baby I was told of born with a hole in the hart I don't know where to start The baby is not well The doctors try their best yet the chances are slim They think he soon will be put to rest I hear the terror in the news people dying in tornados and floods people spilling each others blood I feel so detached from it all now I can't imagine how these things came to be yet never seem to reality to me Blessed am I for my problems seem so small when stood against these I look every day I look every way for good in life as life has been so fragile for me Not long ago I was blinded by depression and could not see all that has been blessed to me I see more each day as my medication clears the way My greatest blessing the love of friends the ones who cared the ones who shared those who pushed me when I was afraid the ones who helped me see My true friends who kept me living in spite of myself Blessed am I I am alive I can see again I remember as I hear the playful laughter of my children I count the blessings I tuck them in at night one, two, three, four, pairs of brown eyes so happy to see a smile on my face again. Thank you friends for showing to me that I have blessings a plenty and the world needs me. my children need me my friends do too. I am here to help in any small way I may. |
