The Day After I feel the drumming of my heart each pound, a nervous thump muffled by inner thoughts wrapping me in worry. I sit mute, with only finger strokes doing my talking, as I am silenced by fear. Lips tighten, holding back the cries of despair. Shrinking, once again, withdrawing from life, not strong enough to resist the hardships to be faced. Feeling flat, my emotions stilled, I shall plane out the present and hope to rise again, when the light of tomorrow meets the dark of today. ~Wynter "The worst prison would be a closed heart". |
