~* Sandcastles and Secrets *~

She missed him most of all at this shore.
Hearts and desires so young and reckless.
How like the sea was their passion.
Her tide, too, had crashed in waves,
waves of thunderous heartbeats
uncontrollable as an undertow,
feeling so powerless in its grip.
Each crest higher than the last,
building to a final peak,
then slowly crashing down again.
Undulating currents that
coaxed, and teased her body
until waves of their passion were spent.
She had loved him she knew that now,
and they made passionate love.
Now as she looked at her son,
Her low tide mirrored no black shadow
On the sands of this shore.
He was the mirror image of his Father.
Maybe someday they would meet,
and she would tell him of her love
and his son, but for now
she held that night and his son,
safe in the sandcastles of a memory.

Mysteria, You have done it once again.  Just when I thought I didn't have any tears left...This is so beautiful...I cannot find the words.  I have read it five times now..the history penned here could have been written by me, or probably many of us out here.  But, only you Mysteria could tell it in this this gentle, tender, loving way.

Lady of Shallot ~ Yes, and sandcastles intrigue me as well, and I am glad you enjoyed this.

Enchantress ~ I suppose this speaks to a large amount of young women of the 60's and things were sure different then.  Yes, it does speak to a large number I assume, and I thank you for your kind words and reading it.

Elizabeth ~ Sometimes an unexpected twist is a good thing, and other times not - I guess this was actually a good one   thanks for reading.

Janet Marie ~ I thought you were busy and here you are sneaking in here reading, well I appreciate you stopping in and your lovely words as usual hon.

This is why I always look forward to reading your poetry!

This moved me so much, what a sad, yet, beautiful story...and the picture and music are a perfect addition!

Take care,
Melissa~

Melissa ~ You flatter me, as really I am no poetry writer, that is for sure.  But I love to write what is in my mind and I am so very happy some of you enjoy it.

Nan ~ You just wait, I will have you a Pacific vs Atlantic Sandcastle contest and we shall see who wins - hmm?  Think you can do it?  Opps, thanks for reading my ditty.

Well...you REALLY did it to me with this one!  Soft and flowing emotions that found their way right into the center of my heart.  (...and, yes....I AM wiping a tear, although I KNOW you would never imagine that coming from me ~*~winks~*~)
This was so very beautiful, Sharon, and it certainly spoke to my heart.

Sharon~ What a tender and heart-felt expression...no wonder some tears are being shed!  Your images flow together and create this heart-wrenching tale...I could just picture a woman standing at the shore of the sea and pouring her heart out into the waves.  You've touched me again sweet poetess.

Hugs,
~Krista

Your beautiful words & creativity allow me to connect with the same in myself.
Thank you for having the courage to share yourself so that I can too

This elergy is so profound and heart-breaking... A deep longing within these words is so vivid and moving. I could feel the pain, like a vise sqeezing the chamber of a heart in sorrow. But, with a love so great and powerful like the waves that  crash the shores of your yearning. Sharon, this has to go to print.... this has to be one of the most tearful read you've ever written. Publish it now!!! Bravo! Love and peace Maggie, with a tear on her cheek. and a lump in her throat.

Sunshine ~ Now that should be on a plaque!

Martha and Maggie ~ My two over zealous romantic writing friends, your words are only outdone by your hearts you know that?  Where do you come up with these comments, and new words all the time that relate to human emotions?  I think you two should collaborate and write a book!

Gentle Spirit ~ Thank you very much for enjoying it.

Smitten Kitten ~ I am glad you stopped in and enjoyed this one, as I saw the picture and had to write about it.

Apachecat 906 - That was simply beautifully done, and thank you for that, I printed it out and kept it in my comments box, thank you again

This story strikes so many chords in us all, Sharon.  So very well done.

(BTW - Thanks for not including any mention of kitties, as I am in a very fine kitty-kicking mood today.)

Martie ~ Thank you

LongJohn ~ Know what I am going to do, I am going to buy one psycho cat on my way to Nan's and get it wrapped up just for you! Oh brother, did anyone ever report you to the SPCA or whatever it is down there where they protect animals?   LOL

Apachecat906 - Better ask him!  Opps, and with a name with cat in it, I think he better have a darn good answer!
