From this day on I will never be the same. Though I go from day to day, I am forever changed. To say good-bye, just seems so pointless now. After all, it's not as if you could hear me anyhow. One by one, I'm taking your pictures down. It's hard enough to heal without your memory all around. I know some day I'll be able to hear that song and remember how we danced. Maybe I'll sing along. But, as for now, I'm packing that disc away. I promise to not forget. I will play it again some day. This box is getting heavy with all the memories. There's your coffee mug, baseball cap and your favorite wore out jeans. Everything is packed away that might make me think of you, except the bed that we shared and this heart that's broke in two. I guess it was pretty silly of me to think this would really work. For all the things I've packed away I could not pack the hurt. So, first thing tomorrow morning, I'll unpack everything, my dear. And, day to day, I'll learn to live with all your memories here. |
