It's time for apples and pumpkins
Baked up in a pie
The winds to start stinging
Bringing tears to your eye

Vibrant fall colors
Drizzle down from the trees
Boxes of tissues
Comfort nose when we sneeze

Air turns a bit crisper
Aromas drift from the leaves
Shorts packed away now
It's time for long sleeves

Covers on windows
Rakes lie in the yard
Bracing for snow
'Cause winters are hard

Soups on the stovetop
To warm up the soul
Big tators and carrots
Steam rises from bowl

Heat on in houses
Warm blankets on beds
Warming toes by the fire
Cuddled up in our spreads

It's time for apples and pumpkins
Vibrant leaves on the trees
Hot cider and chocolate
As we brace for the freeze

<*\\\><
Life may have influenced who we R, but we're responsible for what we become.
I don't question YOUR existance- GOD

Well done.  ~NancyLee~

Great Fall Poem.. sounds like it belongs in an Ideal Book. I can just see the pictures that go with it.

Thank you NancyLee. It's pretty darn cold here too. Just popped in there today, as I was buying carmel apples, looking at the apple cider that's out...

I can smell them too.   Thank you.

Thank you Songbird for a wonderful compliment.

Absolutely Midnitesun! I think they'd enjoy it.

Mom thank you. Love ya much!

Very good, perfect depiction of the crisp feel in the air. If only it would stay here, and not get to that other, horrible cold, windy level. Sigh..
Beautiful poem.

When my shopping cart is loaded with apples
I'll know just who is to blame...
But a pie baking with the AC waaaaaay down
Somehow just isn't the same. *G*

I enjoyed this a lot, WhtDove... thanks for sharing fall! *S*
