One September Day AMK October 7, 2001 You breezed into my life On the cool winds of an Autumn air You had wrapped yourself around my heart Long before I even realised you were there-- My heart was hurting I needed release from the pain And from the moment I felt your love I've never been the same-- You started out as my friend A shelter from the storm outside I found myself in your arms Myself, from you I did not hide-- You became my new beginning But then it turned into something more I continued along my path of Life And Love stood waiting for me behind the door-- Tears upon my lashes Are now replaced by a smile upon my face A heart that was torn in two Is now full of love and grace-- You've done more than to mend my heart I've fallen deep in love with you You and your love are unlike anything I've ever had You are real, your love is true We have something lasting Something built on the now and here It isn't based upon dreams or wishes I'm no longer consumed with sadness or fear Like two pieces of a puzzle We just fit together with ease My heart that was once filled with uncertainty Is now replaced with peace On a cool September day Your love found its way into my heart Now we begin this journey called Love As I begin a brand new start "If I am ever going to mend this broken heart...you look like a good place to start" |
