Sometimes late at night
I think of all the lovers
in each others arms
some are never without
a special someone
never alone in their bed
with just their dreams
living life to the fullest
that is the way it seems
They are never alone
a free spirit they roam

No need to experience pain
and nothing to lose or gain
no tears on their pillow
nor promises to endure
overlooking someone true
faithful as a nun
blind to her beauty
and her gift of love

Sometimes late at night
I wonder
if the pillow of a nun
is adorned with teardrops too?
wrapped within her vows
praying in the moonlight hue.

Every child is an artist. The challenge is to remain an artist once he grows up.

beautiful, Victoria, poignant

I too like the ending lots, but I have one question...did you truly want 'vowels' (aeiou) or 'vows' (oaths to God)

Hmmmm. . .
Very interesting write, Victoria.  Problem is, I can't quite sort out the conflicts.  Such as:
"They are never alone
a free spirit they roam"
Oh well, some readers just don't get it, right?

You know, I'm sure I remember being a free spirit..It's there in the back of the memory bank somewhere..
Nice write, sometimes it seems like thats the way to go, too.

I am laughing at Kathleen as I am the original "free spirit", and I absolutely love it, no strings, no ties, and whoosh I am gone!  I loved this Victoria.

And then some are alone in their bed, even when another occupies it, some folk never dream. Nuns doubtless cry as in their beds they lie. Thought provoking.

Victoria I would be in shock if with the thoughts of love I didn't also experience pain...they seem to come as a package deal...James

Victoria,
I have missed reading you in Ceaseless Blue, I need to stop by Passions more often.
Loved the last stanza.
