As Long As It Matters By: Noah Eaton 7/24/01 It's 2 in the morning Teia is finally sleeping I can't help but think I can't seem to sleep I slip down beside her And I pull up her covers I can't help but think I can't seem to sleep Why can't I save her If I really love her But I will be there to watch her As long as it matters She keeps her head down in the evening And I can hear her crying I can't help but think I can't seem to sleep She says her heart is banked With so much agony and blame I can't help but think I can't seem to sleep Why can't she see me To me it's so heartwrenching But I'll be there to comfort her As long as it matters We both knew life wouldn't be easy But she says why does it have to be this hard And I hug her close and answer "I know how you feel, but you've gone so far!" I look out the window of gloom Waiting for the Rose Of Sharon to bloom I can't help but think I can't seem to sleep I'd whisper, "Sweet angel, sing your favorite carol!" I can't help but think I can't seem to sleep Can I offer her a blessing? That maybe someday she will be singing? Either way, I will always be here for her As long as it matters |
