In the depths of human despair no lower place to crawl sucking on my own black soul feeling nothing, nothing at all. My heart broken, nothing new so I lie here alone and think of you. Blackness envelops me I revel in it’s profanity with both hands I release life and give up my humanity. My heart broken nothing new so I lie here alone wanting you. You touched me with your angel's wing breathed your life into my soul. Now, alone, dread of dawning light spiraling into this hole. My heart broken nothing new so I lie here alone needing you. Giving love one more chance thinking you could save me whispers in the back of my heart taunted me for my insanity. My heart broken nothing new so I lie here alone without you. |

You beautifully described that all too familiar feeling I know I get when thinking of my ex. Well said and welcome back. |

The echo of that lonely sound resonates profoundly in each stanza...a well written piece. |

This takes us places we sometimes don't want to go, but need to now and then. You have been taking us there more and more of late.. nicely done There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar. |

In all honesty, I read this because I couldn't believe the title was yours. The feelings are audible! The thought...I more than understand. Bizarre, how bizarre. |

Sad, touching piece you have here. Flowed very well, smooth and well structured. Liked this much. Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer. |

"In the depths of human despair no lower place to crawl sucking on my own black soul feeling nothing, nothing at all." "whispers in the back of my heart taunted me for my insanity." Oh Sharon ... beautifully done. Excellent phrasing - the repetetive phrase really emphasizes your theme perfectly! You've captured the mood wonderfully with these words, I really enjoyed this piece! ![]() Best wishes, /Kit |

This is a place a lot of people have been once, and probably will be again. You write it well...and it is sure good to see you posting again! ![]() ~ Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance ~And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance ~ I hope you dance. (Lee Ann Womack) |

sharon, my heart ached while reading this. you are an amazing writer, and the depth at which you write this is awesome. the repetition of the main lines really drove home the point. excellent write, though very very sad. take care kind poetress. amy ![]() "but i see your true colors, |

Some powerfully dark images here make this a somber yet brilliant write. I loved the artistry of it and pray it is fiction. Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. Philip Sidney (1554-1586) Loving in Truth |
