Surrounded by the golden glow Of the swiftly setting sun We prance in fields of tall grass Smelling the flowers we pass Looking for the white mass That tells the day is done. We come to the calm lake's surface And reflect on this serene sight Looking for the reflection Of that circular perfection But there is no detection Of its magic on this night. So we collect strewn pebbles The flattest ones we can find And toss them so that they skip Each one doing a jump and flip All ending with that final dip Those rippling moments in time. |

Excelent poem, skipping stones, it's been a long time. Do not fear going forward slowly, |

Cpat ~ I knew the reply was from you before I even went in to take a look thank you always for your kind replies, they do so make me smile! This was inspired by an evening I spent with my best friend. We wanted to photograph the moon's glow on the river near where we live but for some reason it was no where in sight! And it was supposed to be a full moon that night! Very strange! |

Sounds like you've found your "Rome"... (refer to my archived poem, "ROMAN NIGHTS"). This line stood out for me: "Those rippling moments in time." A magical portrait of a memorable place, you have here, Krista. -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |

this piece is very warm and calming--love it.. There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar. |
