Buoys Buoys tilt. Unlike the pilings close inshore That congregate about the wharf, Upright, They keep apart. Once, each seemed to me a kind of servant, Butlering with long, deep bows All kinds of things, From world commerce To the hunt for salmon in spring When California sea lions Push the price of everything up the river. And yet, I wonder if they are dependent Like we think. I envy their preference For rocks and surf In company with fog banks. Could that be why we tether them? RMW |

Virginia...thanks much. And, Rainey is a kind, and patient, friend from the past. Capt. Hair - Always a pleasure to see your comments...and to read your work...which I rarely miss...though rarely comment (character flaw). Martie...as always...thank you. |

oh, I know, but I thought maybe he was here incognito, I miss him, and if I'm not really missing him, I wanted to know, if I could does this make sense to you? |

When she moved, It was with the silky glide Of wet ice on glass. Narrow beam deeply cut Slicing waves that bent Round bow and allowed Dolphin place to dance When she moved, It was with quickened heart and in full whites Making sailors dream Just thought of this one... I wrote it thinking of some of your poetry..and wanted to share it with you... |

This tilts, all right...first you take an inanimate object, sprinkle a little word dust, slowly reform it into a "live" buoy and suddenly with the tethering.... you bring reality back.... wish I could do that! Well done Sir! And thank you! |
