Ms. Sunflower SpeaksPlanted from a seed with love, nurtured and loved from above contained in Mother Nature's mirth I sprout and peek above the earth. I search for the healing warmth I need to help me flourish and succeed, I reach for the sky of azure blue for pigments from the sun’s golden hue. I drink droplets from the sky it helps me grow and come alive. The golden petals around my face reflect a blush from the sun’s rays. Mid-Summer heat has me smiling as I reach higher, always climbing to higher heights in search of the sun; as it goes to bed, my day is done. My feathered friends, their breakfast take pecking away at my pimpled face; again I follow the light up high I give praise and heave a sigh. I smell the chill in the Autumn breeze as I watch the flittering of prismatic leaves. I don’t believe I’ll grow any higher I can’t follow the light any longer. I bow my laden head in prayer harvest time is calling yonder I know my time on earth is done my beauty fades with the setting sun. |

THank you flower lovers.... My sunflowers, (the small or huge ones) have not flowered yet. Some of them grow as tall as 12 to 14 feet.... it takes forever to see them in bloom. They go for the sun and it's been raining alot here in Northern Maine.... I appreciate you reading and commenting. ((~.~)) |

The State flower of Kansas is also, and sadly, known as a noxious weed along the roadside. Then they turn around and plant domestic seed for harvest. Go figure! Enjoyed! |
