The great three-masted schooner ran before the wind easily carving through the heavy running sea. This man, his stubborn words unwilling to rescind, his salty pride refusing to hear his heart’s plea, rushes his retreat from a woman's love again, fleeing upon his first love, always faithful ship. Thinking distance is needed from the why and when yet thoughts clear with each comfortable sway and dip. Breathing in the familiar fragrance of sea air, his mind grapneling with the dilemma of love, his pride bows to the knowing, his heart remains where she is waiting, and he turns in direction of his love, his heart, and his home port. Come about mates, pile on the sail, we're headed where my true love waits. |

The entire poem is beautiful, but I really love this line "and he turns in direction of his love, his heart, and his home port." I like that compass reading. Well written. |
