                “LONELY NIGHT”
                           by
                      Bill Charles
                        ~~~~
Lonely all through the night, without you,
        I search and wonder,
                where you have gone…
I held you tight, as the sun set in the sky
        when I awoke,
                all I could see was the dawn…
I’d never lie with another, only you,
for I would always be, by your side…
Morning arrived too soon, that day,
        I didn’t really know,
                what to do…
For I missed you, lying by my side,
        of that,
                I would never argue…
I’d never lie with another, only you,
for I would always be, by your side…
Tears fell from my eyes, onto my lips,
        and they quivered,
                as I tasted you…
I searched the misty morn, not knowing,
        if my heart once again,
                you made blue…
I’d never lie with another, only you,
for I would always be, by your side…
So I say, please listen to my plea,
        I would lie here,
                waiting in the light…
And if you would join me soon,
        both would never, have another,
                “Lonely Night”…
You have written a beautiful, but sad poem.  Also, painted many pictures.  Thank you for sharing,  ME
Ah yes... such wonderful sentiments - and I LOVE the refrain... What a great song this one would make...
Cpat Hair - thank you for the reply...
Mother_Earth - yes, you have said that right about the beauty and sadness. And thanks for stopping by to read this poem of mine.
Irish Rose - nice to see you again, and thanks for the reply.
Titia Geertman - it feels so good to be back. Have had many things to do that took up too much time, but I'll be posting once again, and loving every minute of it. And thanks for the kind words.
Yes, I was thinking it sounded like a song! Very nice, though sad.
Lonely Days, Lonely Nights sprang forth in my mind as I read down the lines...I know that is not the gist of your tune, but it did...come to mind...
well done, Mr. Charles...
I've heard this melody before BC. . . and I'm not suprised that you wrote it. . .
my friend, you're one of the few that knows the heart. . . great job. . .
Sentimental, pondering, melancholy, and honest...  A tender expression and request.  Nice, Bill.
(big hugggsssssss) Oh Bill, this is so very sad, I too share these emotions, every night before I fall alseep, I pray to God that my love Joanna will be mine forever and I forever love her and never have to endure another lonely quiet evening again! (sigh) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is so sad but beautiful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Bill, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
Love,
Noah Eaton
