As a forest
Taken down with the firestarters hate
All living things perish or take
For a safer ground

All that is left
Is scorched and marred
In blackness
Charcoaled in loneliness
Stark in offering
Of any sign of life

Even the sunshine seems
To have abandoned the sight
Of the blackened ground
The temples of ebony
Leafless trees
Not one hint of green

Until one day
A passerby
Traipsing paths once lush
Happens to notice
Sprouting up from
Coal like remains
Bright Green shoots of grass
Alas!
The Healing has begun
As the birds of hope
Watch and wait
And sing life upwards
Once again.

I am reminded here of the renewal of life after the eruption of Mt. St. Helens---It took awhile...but hope did indeed spring, and even more hopefully? eternal. Applause here, Regina.

This was fantastic writing as usual.  To tell Serenity I saw the eruption of Mt. St. Helen's and all the lush green is back, and the land is renewed almost now, so there is hope of renewal always.  I love your writing style.

From what I've read, this magnificent earth comes back from a fire even more luscious than before. Thanks for the hopeful pen.

Serenity: It's amazing what we've been through in this world already. We just keep shooting  upwards. I hope always. Thanks for reading. God Bless.

Marge: It's on the horizon dear Lady. Some of us are trees rooted very deep. I think you are one. Love and Peace!

Mysteria: Thank you! As even Mother Nature has shown you rebirth. We must follow the natural order. Hugs to you and yours.

Richard: Yes, that is how it happens. Amazingly! Thank you for reading. Hope to all.

Thanks for being here. Everyone! Peace and Love.

Sincerely,
Regina
