The heart of you

0 posted 2001-09-17 02:01 PM

The voice of my heart speaks in cadence soft and clear,
As again I hear the voice of the one I hold dear.
The voice of one who speaks sweeter than the angels above
She is my bluish-eyed adored, the woman that I love.

In golden, flaxen-haired glory, she stands before my eyes.
Holding her close to me, I give thanks up to the skies.
I can feel her heart beat in twain with my own.
She’s given to me, the truest love I’ve ever known.

Lover of my life, my bluish-eyed, flaxen-haired one,
Shine your love on me, burning brighter than the sun.
Speak to me again in cadence soft and clear,
In your sweetest voice, the one I hold so dear.

Here I speak to you again
to tell you just how beautiful and true
this writing of you

I loved it......Thank you

Romeo this is lovely...cadence kissed and romantic...
and yes indeed... poetically "soft spoken"

since you invite critique...might I offer this...

"She is my bluish-eyed adored, the woman that I love"

in place of the vague "bluish" try choosing a defined color to inject the image to the reader...
for example...
"She is my azure eyed adored"
that gives a pure image and also gives you poetic word play of a soft alliteration.
Or use any example for the color blue, that you like....
(unless the "bluish" has significant meaning between you and the intended.)
I was searching my Thesaurus just this morn looking for some variations of color.
Well done poet sir...a lovely poetic declaration of your heart

Well I looked to the sky for my anthem
The words and the music came through
But words and music can never touch
The beauty that I've seen in you

Another poem of longing from our Moonlight Romeo. When will the aching stop? I await the next poem to see, sir. I enjoyed this.

I am many.

MyEnchanted_Melody, thank you for your wonderful words.  Truly they made my day.

JamesMichael, thank you, I know that you understand.

JanetMarie, sweet lady, thank you so much for your help.  I will take your words under advisement.

Siofra, I hope that the aching will stop soon.  Thank you.
