To Be – To Be

not for me to weary you
with things I might not have
but for me to give you balm
and for your soreness, salve

for I shall not take from you
all that you hold dear
but effortless, as peace shall come
in that I hold you near

in times of trouble, cast your cares
to the winds I kiss
and in your sore and troubled times
let me offer, mist

for I would shelter you
from storms and tides
and be your safe arms
opened wide
to give relief
and anchor you
give you stance
to face the blue

O come to me, as night shall pass
and your troubles, wane
and let me be your looking glass
as I shall keep you, sane

This reminds me of the words written at the statue of liberty. It is comforting and somehow truly conveys security. Thank you for this.

Ah Sis, I knew you would give me a "neck rub" and you did! This made me feel a whole lot better you know that, and I loved this lovely poem, thank you.

in the last few days I have read so many things, words of help and reassurance, I have some how been unable to find any solace of any type in any ones words,,,I’m not really sure why…but it seems as if some type of shell has surrounded me like a protective egg and nothing has been able to pass through…as I read your words here… tears fell uncontrollably as I at last found a shred of comfort…saying thank you seem so inadequate but your words finally warmed a cold spot inside me…helen

Thank you all so very much for your generous comments. Through this United time we stand, and will grow stronger - then to deal daily with the things that are "always there", we will learn to deal with them on a much more even footing, as things have been put into perspective.
