My son and I watched the news We saw great towers fall We watched as madmen, all enthused Gave out a wrenching call. For America to tumble was their cry, Their lofty anti-slogan. We watched as Americans slowly died We watched their terror worsen. My boy is four, barely out of womb He has no understanding Of those who could innocents entomb Or go on war demanding. He simply watches with big blue eyes Full of staining tears As Americans needlessly lose their lives And voice resounding fears. Let's take the war to them now And make the sacrifices Make our world safe somehow And remove the terror devices. So that my son, my precious boy Won't have to grow up in A world so easy to destroy And be safe from this evil sin. Knight of the Rose. |

We will have a place for their laughter to reign above all evil. I can only trust this will be. For what would the world be without it. Hugs and Love to you and yours. God Bless. Sincerely, Regina |

RSEvans-I appreciate what you have written here as I have concerns for my own children, I can only hope and pray that their lives will be safer and that their world will not succumb to such hatred. |

this is an excellent piece, you captured the childlike horror well in your sons "big blue eyes"...I too have children and always hoped that this would never be an option (terrorism here in the US) but now its a reality and we have to learn how to deal with it head on. Good luck in helping the effort to keep our children safe. run around the world |

Oh my goodness.. this poem made me cry.. It makes me think of my nephew.. who watched it on the tv with my sister... and is now saying things, because he doesn't understand... and it reminds me of my neice.. who doesn't even want to watch the news.. its just to scary for her... My heart goes out to all the children, as to how do we really explain what happened... |
