Twin Brothers

"In the City of God there will be a great thunder,
Two brothers torn apart by Chaos,
while the fortress endures,
the great leader will succumb,
The third big war will begin when the big city is burning"

Nostradamus 1654

And so a Hoax is perpetuated in this wake of Terror
To say that the past predicted this assault on Freedom
Out of the minds of fear, Out of a need to Know Why?
To frieghten an already frieghtened World, Who Knows?
Maybe only a mad man!

The stars still shine in my night sky, they are the beacons.
Many of our brothers and sisters will seek them out.
And we will shed a tear for each flickering light
As they take this journey before us…

As the Fall approaches I wonder if I will see those stars again,
Is it true the sky is calmest before the storm?
Are we in the Eye of the Hurricane, or the well of a great wave?
“Although I walk through the shadow of death I will fear no evil!”

I fear that I am not ready for that journey.
Maybe Nostradamus did know the great truths of the world..
We often search for answers in those predictions,
Every great disaster fits somehow… sure just change the words.

What were his real words?

“Five and forty steps the sky will burn
Fire approaching the large new city
Instantly a great thin flame will leap
When someone will want to test the Normans.”

Nostradamus  (Loosly translated)

“Well, who knows what the future brings?
And we aint sheep, We be Normans!
And we’ve been tested…
Great Flames will leap, bet on it”

President Bush. (Loosly translated)

“Although we walk through the shadow of death we will fear no evil!”

So, Let’s go kick some Terrorist Butt,
For our brothers, our sisters… and Freedom.

I join you in kicking some butt!  As the days roll on fear subsides and determination and a need to resolve this grows.  A great reference in your poem, well done.

Nostradamus is "too close for comfort" but I take great pride in thinking, and believing, that we can stand behind our President to do the right thing...

Thank you Parker...

Thank you for this clever and wisdom filled write P-man ...
on Friday they were telling how many other Nations and Countries were observing and honoring us with their own National Day of Mourning, and it touched me to see how global and huge the support was...no one has been left untouched by this and it gives quiet comfort to know so many have their hand held out.
Always good to have a Canadian Cowboy in our corner.

Well I looked to the sky for my anthem
The words and the music came through
But words and music can never touch
The beauty that I've seen in you

Yes, the interpretations and translations lose a lot over the years and in the hands of subjectivity.

peace, park.

I cannot believe that someone would want to get a thrill, using this sort of rubbish, when a country is at such a low. Well said Parker.

"So, Let’s go kick some Terrorist Butt,
For our brothers, our sisters… and Freedom."

Do you need some help to kick that butt?
